Connie (Sowder) Payne

OBITUARY NOTICE:

Mrs. Connie Payne, age 68, of Mt Vernon, KY. departed this life on Monday, June 30th, 2025, at her residence in Mt Vernon, KY.

Connie was born on June 19th, 1957, in Pine Hill, KY. She was a daughter of the late Ulysis and Betty Taylor Sowder. On June 22, 1973, she married Paul Payne, and from that union came three children, Jeff, Derrick and Rodney. She loved all kinds of flowers, gardening, and going to church but most of all the grandkids and spending time with friends and family.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children; Derrick Payne (Amber) of Mt Vernon, Rodney Payne of Mt Vernon, her grandchildren; Slayton, Adasynn, and Hailey Payne, her brothers; Danny, Garry, and Ricky Sowder (Sandra) all of Pine Hill, her sisters; Barbara Dooley (George) and Deloris Sowder.

Besides her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Payne (2021), two children; Jeff Payne and unnamed (Infant), three sisters; Linda Bond, Debra Prewitt, Bonnie Sowder (Infant), brother: Randal Sowder.

Visitation service for Connie will be Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, from 6-9pm at Higher Praise Ministries. Funeral service will be Thursday, July 3rd, at 2pm at Higher Praise Ministries with Bros. Chris Davidson and Jason Medley officiating.

Casket bearers are Tommy Scott, Roger Thomas, Eddie Wayne Mink, Larry Thompkins, Dustin Lear, and Melvin Cromer.

Honorary casket bearers are Gary Sowder, Danny Sowder, Buster Denney, Doug Leger, Ricky Sowder, Phillip Rose, and Steve Mink.
