Cora Elizabeth (Chasteen) Callahan

Mrs. Cora Elizabeth Callahan, age 66, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at her home in Crab Orchard, KY.

Cora was born on January 4, 1953 in Berea, KY to the late William Elden Chasteen and the late Loretta Brooks Chasteen.  She married Michael Callahan on July 8, 1972.  She was a member of the Roundstone Baptist Church, enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandkids, sewing, reading, cooking, and gardening.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 46 years, Michael Callahan, two daughters: Michelle (Stacy) Hall of Copper Creek, KY, and Tonya (Michael) Collinsworth of Copper Creek, KY; three grandchildren:  Jacob Michael Collinsworth, Caleb William Collinsworth, and Ava Grace Hall; one brother:  Ray Chasteen of Conway, KY; four sisters:  Betty (Ellis) Eldridge, Sue Baker, and Jean Simpson, all of Copper Creek, KY, and Linda Roberts of Berea, KY. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her brothers, Earl Chasteen and James Chasteen, and her sister, Etta Rogers.

All services for Mrs. Cora Elizabeth Callahan will be at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals in Brodhead, KY.  Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2019 from 5-9pm.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 1 pm with Bro. Randal Adams and Bro. Ralph Chasteen officiating.  Burial will follow at the Cartersville Cemetery.  Casket bearers are:  Kevin Shelton, Glen Adams, Dewayne Simpson, Russell Poynter, Tom Schuler, and Jeff Thompson.
