Dallas Severance Obituary

Dallas Phillip Severance, age 77, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 21st, 2021, in his home. Born on December 2nd, 1943, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Homer & Opal Lowduska (Denny) Severance. Dallas was the widower of the late Shelia Faye (Brock) Severance, whom he married, December 17th, 1965, and preceded him in death on October 24th, 2017. Dallas was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, who served our country 1962-1964. Starting with the US military in 1962 and retiring from Square D as a Spot-Welding Fabricator in 2013, Dallas worked for over 50 years. Dallas is known for his charisma, quick witted humor, hard work ethic but most of all his deep level of care and love to the ones he knew. He enjoyed 52 years of marriage with his one true love, Shelia. Dallas was saved and baptized at Ephesus Baptist Church in Crab Orchard, Kentucky.

Dallas leaves behind one daughter, Melissa Mann (Phillip) of Hamilton, Ohio; one son, Chad Phillip Severance, (Delora) of Lancaster, KY; three grandchildren, Brittany Warren of Columbus, Ohio, Jonah and Bryce Severance of Lancaster, Kentucky. One brother, Walter Severance of West Chester, Ohio; and five sisters, Dorothy Wilder (Harvey) of Stanford, Betty Sallee of Danville, Kentucky, Carolyn Tussey of Lexington, KY and Brenda Hunt of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and Terri Bertram of Junction City, Kentucky.

In addition to his wife and parents, Dallas was preceded in death by one infant sister, Linda Severance and three brothers, Danny Severance, Jimmy Severance and Billy-Ray Severance.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 24th, 2021, at 11am, at Marvin E. Owen’s Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Eggers of Ephesus Baptist Church officiating the service. Burial, with Full Military Honors performed by Post # 18 - American Legion, will follow in Maretburg Cemetery.

The Visitation will be held 5-8PM Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021, at the funeral home.
