Obituary notice:

Dana Lynne (Craig) Sanders, born March 10, 1961, in Richmond, Kentucky, passed from this life on July 4, 2024 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Dana lived her early life in Renfro Valley and then on the family farm near Brodhead, Kentucky. She was a 1978 graduate of Rockcastle County High School, and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982, with a degree in Computer Science.  After graduating from Eastern, Dana moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she worked in computer software development for many years with Burroughs Corporation, and Hazelhurst Corporations.

Never fearing a challenge or an adventure, her career took her to many locations around the world.  She was known for her witty intelligence and infectious laughter.  She was a great storyteller, musician, and conversationalist.  She was a passionate animal lover and the ever-willing humanitarian.

Dana is survived by and the proud mother of two sons, Duncan Reid Stanford (Richmond, Kentucky) and Christian Jay “C.J.” Stanford (Camp Lejeune, North Carolina) Three grandchildren, Ella, Emma and Colton.  She is also survived by brothers, Pat (Ann) and Chris (Mary Lee), nieces Angelica Johnson (Brad), Mackenzie Rogers, Molly Craig and nephew Keaton Craig, as well as great niece Raegan Johnson and great nephew Colton Rogers.  Dana was preceded in death by her husband Dave Sanders, her parents Evans “Gatliff” and Nell Wanda (Parsons) Craig of Brodhead, Kentucky.

A ”Celebration of Life” for Dana will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 .  Visitation at Providence Church of Christ from 1-4PM with services at 4PM. 

After the memorial service, continued visitation with family and friends with sandwiches and  snacks  at The Heritage Farm, 1311 KY 3245, Brodhead, KY.

Donations/Contributions in Dana's name  may be made to the Kentucky River Regional Animal Shelter.
