Darrell Dee Collinsworth

Darrell Dee (Dickie) Collinsworth, 74, of Renfro Valley Ky. passed from this life on August 22nd at the Stanton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. 

Born on September 29th in Olive Hill, Ky. to the late Willard and Aline Smith Collinsworth. He was Baptized at Brindle Ridge Baptist Church and had strong belief in the Christian faith. 

Darrell was a very fun loving person who was always able to lift the spirits of those around him. He had the ability to turn even the most mundane of tasks into an enjoyable memory.  Ever the trickster, he found joy in joking around with family and friends. His wit and humor naturally drew people to him and made everyone feel at ease. These skills helped him to have success in his professional life. Serving as a member of Rockcastle Co. EMS was his biggest joy professionally. He was also a member of the Mt. Vernon Police Department. Darrell was an excellent chef who not only enjoyed cooking for his family, but also patrons at the restaurant he owned in Renfro Valley. Later, Darrell became a very successful Car Salesman working at Cummins Chrysler in Berea, Ky and eventually owning a car business with his father. While being a salesman, Darrell won numerous awards including being named a top salesman in the greater Cincinnati area. Darrell loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed. 

Darrell is survived by two daughters: Koula Verda and husband Christopher Knox of Stanton, Ky and Cora Gwendolyn Aline and husband Tony James Adams of Barbourville Ky. 

He was the proud grandfather of Charlie Anna Rae Knox, Aaliyah Kay Leann Partin, Brayden Scott McFerron, Delilah Rayne Barnett, and twins Chevy Michael and Nova-lee Collinsworth. 

Darrell is survived by two sisters: Diedre Collinsworth-Norton widow of the late Wilburn Lee Norton of Mt. Vernon, Ky and Tamela Alpha Collinsworth of Brodhead, Ky. 

He is also survived by nephews Anthony Cummins and wife Jessi, Andrew Thomas and a niece Callie Thomas. 

Darrell was proceeded in death by one son: John Michael Lee Collinsworth of Mt. Vernon, his parents Willard and Aline Smith Collinsworth of  Renfro Valley, grandparents Alpha and Cloia Wilson Smith of Renfro Valley and William (Willie) and Charlie Anna Cozart Collinsworth of Olive Hill,  a nephew Michael Darrell and his wife Tonya Lynn Callahan Collinsworth of Copper Creek and a best friend Jimmy Durham.
