Deloris Jean (Bishop) Burns

Deloris Jean Bishop Burns, age 74, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her residence in Brodhead, KY.

She was born on November 28, 1945 in Brodhead, KY. A daughter of the late James A. Bishop and Sarah Elizabeth Singleton. Jean did hospital catering. Her special interest was her grandchildren and family.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Steven Rumsey (Robin) of Mt. Vernon, KY; Elizabeth Sims (Anthony) of Brodhead, KY; Gary Burns (Leticia) of Mt. Vernon, KY; and Tim Baugh (Margie) of Manchester, KY; her grandchildren: Sarah Rumsey, Ashton Goodeve, Kaleb Burns, Blaine Rumsey, Jenna Rumsey, Reagan Rumsey, Kylee Burns, Brody Rumsey, Amber Baugh, Nicholas Baugh and Breann Baugh. Her great-grandchildren: Tatum Goodeve, Benjamin Baugh and Wesson Baugh.  Her brothers: Delray Bishop (Janet) of Ohio; Alvin Bishop (Lois) of Crab Orchard, KY; Bobby C. Bishop of Brodhead, KY; Doug Bishop (Janet) of Brodhead, KY; and Ernest Bishop of Brodhead, KY; Her sister: Genealia Bishop of Brodhead, KY. As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Verday Bishop, David Bishop and Marion Bishop; her sisters: Nellie Asher, Lavada Rice and Wanda Barnett.

Visitation for Deloris Jean Bishop Burns will be Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 11AM – 1PM at the Crab Orchard Church of God. Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the  Crab Orchard Church of God with Bro. Steve VanHook and Bro. Tim Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
