Dennis William Rash

Dennis William Rash, born on July 7, 1954, in Rockcastle County, passed way on July 15, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Cecil Rash and Lena Kirby Rash. He is survived by his wife Dora Rash, and daughter Denise Platner, his step children Johnny Bullock, and Kimberly Bullen. He was a loving Grandfather “Pappy” to Colbin Bullen, Triston Platner and Tavery Platner. Step Grandfather to Brandon Bullock, Heather Ramsey, Savanna Shelton, Samatha Roher, April Fetters, Michelle Bullock, Jessica Renninger, Micheal Bullock, Katie Acosta, Joey Bullen and step great grandfather to several. He is also survived by his siblings Billy Ray (Brenda) Rash and Joe Rash and many nieces and nephews and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Ronald Rash, 1 half brother John Wayne Rash, and 1 half sister Bertha Marie (Linda) Livesay and 1 step child Michael Bullock. Pallbearers: Joe Rash, Triston Platner, Tavery Platner, Brandon Bullock, Micheal Bullock,Jr, Scotty Rash.

Dennis was renowned for his incredible intellect and curiosity. Despite lacking formal education, he was a self-taught expert in a multitude of fields including computers, satellites, mechanics, machinery, governmental laws and rights. His passion for learning extended to the latest technologies, making him a resource and inspiration to many. Dennis was a kind and caring soul, leaving behind many memories of helping everyone that called on him, never asking for anything in return. His generosity and willingness to assist others were hallmarks of his character. Dennis’ life was a testament to the power of self education and perseverance. He leaves behind a legacy of knowledge, curiosity and a love for learning. . His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing the most intelligent self taught man they ever met.

Services for Mr. Rash will be Wednesday 6 to 9 PM and funeral Thursday at 2 PM. with Chad Burdette officiating both at the Marvin E. Owens Chapel.

Burial will take place in the Cresthaven Cemetery.
