Mr. Don Stevens of Maretburg, Ky. would like to announce that he has cracked enough walnuts, grown enough vegetables and raised enough cows. He wants everyone to know how grateful he is to have spent many years on his grandfather’s farm with the best farmer’s wife a farmer could have, his beloved Teet. However, knowing all great things come to an end; he has decided to relocate for eternity to be with his Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born on November 16, 1928, in Brodhead, Ky., a son of the late Colson and Anne Emerick Stevens. He was an employee with the L & N Railroad in Louisville before retiring to the farm. Don served his country in the US Army, attaining rank of Corporal. He was of the Baptist faith and found great joy in farming and his family. Don was a member of the #865 F&AM Masonic Lodge and The Scottish Rite.
On June 15, 1952, he was united in marriage to Kathleen “Teet” Albright, and from that union came two children: Nancy Jayne and Don Ambrose.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife of seventy years, Katheen “Teet” Stevens of Maretburg, Ky; his children: Nancy Jayne Beanblossom and husband Dr. Brian of Louisville, Ky; and Dr. Don Ambrose Stevens and Libby Marbury of Shelbyville, Ky; His grandchildren: Dr. Lyndsie Beanblossom North and husband Dr. Alan, Mollie Beanblossom Shutt and husband Dr. Travis, Annie Beanblossom, Manny Beanblossom, Sam Beanblossom, Dr. Micah Emerick Stevens (Dr. Ashley Duvall) and Dr. Loah Ambrose Lewis and husband Eric . His great grandchildren: Savannah Mae North; Rosie Jayne North; Bennett Lee Shutt and Baylor Anne Shutt. His sisters: Virginia Broaddus of Brodhead, Ky; Iris Young (Joe) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Patricia Blair (Herman) of Lexington, Ky; Loretta “Sunny” Rowe of Knoxville, Tenn. His brother: Rex Stevens of Somerset, Ky As well as many loving nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Kathleen McLaurin, Juanita Cloud & Jo Ann Reusch. Brothers; Danny Stevens, & Jan Stevens, and infant Joyce Emerick Stevens.
