Mr. Donald “Don” Crawford Bray, age 92, widower of Loretta, of Brodhead, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at his residence.
Don was born October 4, 1928, in Wabb, KY, a son of the late Robert Lee Bray and Lola Hazel Brown. He was united in marriage to Loretta Owens, and they enjoyed 71 years together, prior to her passing in March of 2020. He was a dedicated owner and employee of Bray’s Transmission for over 45 years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and farming.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Linda Lee (Jim) Ervin of West Chester, OH, Donna Sharon Pennix of Stanford, KY, Dennis Dale (Rhonda) Bray of Brodhead, KY, Ricky Dean (Tammy) Bray of Brodhead, KY, Michael Roy Bray Brodhead, KY, and Melissa Carol Deatherage of Brodhead, KY; 15 grandchildren: Jamie Webb, Laura Beth Broermann, Natalie Huston, Leslie McFall, Zachary Pennix, Jackson Bray, Tanner Bray, Josh Bray, Matthew Bray, Haley Bray, Aliah Bray, Ben Bray, Shanlee Childress, Kaylee Deatherage, and Matt Peace; great-grandchildren: Kayla Bosaw, Taylor Jarvi, Steven McFall, Abby McFall, Alex Childress, Henry Bray, Thea Childress, Alex McFall, Owen McFall, Auna Rose Pearson, Clara Bray, Trapper Bray, Isla Bray, Liam Carr, Lulu Bray, Hunter Bray, Hazel Bray, Hattie Bray, Presley Peace, Russell Peace, Mallory Webb, Braydon Webb, Eva Broermann, and Tyler Broermann; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Besides his parents and his wife Loretta Owens Bray, he was preceded in death by his siblings: John Edward Bray, Raymond Bartell Bray, Jimmy Bray, Charlie Baker Bray, and Anna Mae Hamm.
Services for Mr. Don Crawford Bray will be Sunday, September 26, 2021, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, beginning with the visitation at 12pm until the time of the funeral at 2pm, with Travis Gilbert and Darren Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Matthew, Josh, Jackson, Tanner, and Ben Bray, and Zach Pennix.
