Reverend Donald King, age 91, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 29th, 2021.
Bro. Donald was born on February 15th, 1930, in Casey County, Kentucky, the son of the late Leslie King and Maudie Mae Doyle King. He was united in marriage to Ollie Mae Leece on September 16th, 1949, and they enjoyed 70 years together prior to her passing on December 24th, 2019. He spent his life as a pastor, a farmer, and 50 years as a logger. He was the pastor at Crab Orchard Pentecostal Church for 22 years.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Kenneth (Irene) King of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Wayne (Pamela) King of Brodhead, KY, and Virginia Gail Owens of Crab Orchard, KY; his grandchildren: Stephanie (Travis) West, Michael (Dede) King, Melissa (Justin) Feldman, Ashley Owens, and Kaitlin (Christian) Poynter; his great-grandchildren: Tyler West, Luke West, Jacob West, Emerson West, Cassandra King, and Kadyn Feldman; two brothers: Cecil (Judy) King of Brodhead, KY, and Curtis (Eloise) King of Danville, KY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, church family, friends, and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ollie Mae Leece King; two brothers: Delbert King and David King; three sisters: Dorothy Atwood, Izetta Scott, and Lucille Horn; and a son-in-law Jack Owens.
Services for Reverend Donald King will begin with the visitation Monday, August 2nd, 2021, from 6 to 9pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, at 11am with Bro. Lonnie McGuire officiating. Both will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the Crab Orchard Cemetery.
