Donald Stayton

Bro. Don Stayton, age 74, husband of Donna, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Don was born June 24, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Paul and Ruth (Hughes) Stayton. He married Donna Neeley on June 24, 1966, and from that union came two children:  Scott and Robyn.  Don was a lifelong student of The Word, loved traveling, played golf, and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Kentucky Wildcats. Don devoted his life to spreading the Word of God.  He began his ministry in Willow Hill, IL, then as Associate and Interim Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Billings, MT, followed by Grace Baptist Church in Cincinnati, OH, and served for thirty-five years as Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, KY.   

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife of 54 years: Donna Stayton; two children:  Scott Stayton and wife Lisa of Indianapolis, IN, Robyn Fain and husband Garry of Mt. Vernon, KY; seven grandchildren:  Cristopher Stayton, Ciara Stayton, Tiffany Fain, Cameron Stayton and wife Lexi, Coby Stayton, Kylee Fain, Caleigh Stayton; two sisters:  Shirley Bowlin of California, and Linda Thomas and husband Peter of Florida; as well as a host of friends, neighbors, and church family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings:  Ralph Stayton, Ruby Tarter, Ethel King, Peggy Lowe, and Paula Stayton.

Visitation for Bro. Don Stayton will be Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 5-8pm at Bible Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 11am at Bible Baptist Church with Pastors Darrell Sparks and Travis Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Cemetery. Casket bearers are Cristopher, Cameron, and Coby Stayton, Garry Fain, Jarrod Amyx, and Darren Allen. Honorary casket bearers are Pete Cannon, Pete Morgan, Sam and Danny Ford.
