Donald Lynn Arnold, BKA Donnie passed on from this earth on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Bluegrass Hospice Care in Lexington, KY.
He was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, KY but currently resided in Berea, KY. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and amazing papaw. He was welcomed at the gates of Heaven by his father & mother, Jim & Hilda Arnold, his brothers Frank, Dave, and Mike, his sister Robyn and so many friends and family. His sister LeAnn Arnold and brother Ronnie Arnold carry on telling tales of all the kids many adventures. He will fill his time golfing, fishing, and building his wooden creations until his amazing wife May Arnold rejoins him someday.
His children, Louis Arnold, Danielle (Mikah) Reams, and his grandson Robert will continue his talents, teachings, and repeating his many Donnieisms for all to enjoy. His legacy and passion were his family; they were his favorite people to spend time with and his proud topic to talk about to anyone who would listen. Donnie was a Mr. Fix It, a Farmer, a former Hyster Yale employee and more recently a member of the "Old Man Golf Crew", named such by his daughter and family.
He will be greatly missed on the courses with the men that made his retirement enjoyable and full of breakfast meetings and 9 holes. His talent for telling a story and not meeting a stranger will be greatly missed by his friends and family. His neighbors and loved ones will miss him being there anytime they called with a toilet problem, curtains to hang, yard to mow, garden to plow or whatever it was they needed assistance with, even in the middle of the night. He was a man of many talents, many hobbies, a heart as big as the Grand Canyon and most of all a family man.
In honor of Donnie and in lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks that you consider donating to one of the following organizations: Donate Life Kentucky (https://www.donatelifeky.org/financial-contributions/), National Kidney Foundation (https://www.kidney.org/), Bluegrass Care Navigators https://www.bgcarenav.org/give), National Rifle Association https://donate.nra.org/donate?utm_source=HomeNraOrg), or Laurel Lake Baptist Camp (https://www.llbc.camp/give).
Consider also a day on the golf course, a ride on a tractor, or creating memories with friends and family as the biggest honor you can give him.
