Donnie R (Jr) Coffey

Donnie Ray Coffey, age 58, of Mt Vernon, Ky. departed this life on Friday, December 19th, 2025, at Goodsam Medical Center in Lexington, KY. A son to Donald and Marcella McCollum Coffey. On March 21st, 1987, he married Michelle Elam Coffey and from that union came two children: Angela and Jesse.

Donnie was born on November 7th, 1967, in Mt Vernon, Ky. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Okonite Cable Company after 38 years of service. Donnie enjoyed Deer Hunting, Farming, Riding side by sides, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to celebrate his life are his father: Donald Coffey (Edna),  his wife of 38 years, Michelle Elam Coffey, his children; Angela Brendel (Todd) of Ill., Jesse Coffey (Megan) of Mt. Vernon, his grandchildren; Maycee Abney, Walker Coffey, Eyvind Brendel, Maggie Coffey, and Jessi Lou Coffey, his sisters; Penny Edwards of Brodhead, Jenny Moore (Andrew) of Frankfort, Janie King (J.B.) of Mt Vernon.

Donnie was preceded in death by his mother: Marcella McCollum Coffey.

Visitation for Donnie will be Tuesday, December 23rd, 2025, at Owens Chapel from 5-8pm. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 24th, at 1pm with Bro. Jason Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery.

Casket bearers are Jesse Coffey, Todd Brendel, Randy Elam, Bryan King, Chris Alexander, and Robert Alexander. Honorary Casket Bearers are Thomas Wagner, Andy Elam, Dwaine Elam, and Members of the 5/30 Club.
