Doris Jean Brown

Doris Jean Brown, age 84 of Orlando, KY passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.

Doris was born August 13, 1938, in Quail, KY to the late Marcus and Edith Albright Brown. She was of the Church of Christ faith and enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, bingo, family birthdays and gatherings. Her greatest love was her family. She worked at American Greeting for 14 years and was a waitress for 30 years.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children:  Debbie (Keith) Bullock of Orlando, KY, Bobby Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, KY, Diane (Clifford) Ramsey, Gary (Nancy) Ramsey, Billy, Linda, Carol, Loretta, Jamie, Cody, Zach, and George; grandchildren: Ashley Lunsford, Sonya Hensley (Adam), Tonya Lunsford, Greg Spoonamore (Tasha), Mary Beth Arnold (Mark), Cody Spoonamore, Choemae Spoonamore, Amanda Jean Ramsey (Doug), Gary Ramsey, Jr., Cassie Ramsey, Jessie Ramsey, Sadie, Sunday, Aden, and Ryleigh; great-grandchildren: Paisley Wheeler, Briana and Houston Hensley, Jacob, Jayce, Jax, and Jager Asher, Everleigh Bradley, Maelynn and Ethan Arnold, Addison, Alex, Aiden, and Avery Spoonamore, Gary, Russell, Dakota, Alexis, Navaeh, and Heaven Ramsey; brothers:  Garner Brown (Mary Ann) of Brodhead, KY, Raymond Brown (Brenda) of Brodhead, KY; and sister:  Lorene Lawrence (Bobby) of Brodhead, KY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by Timmy Ramsey and Mark Ramsey; grandchildren:  Elijah Lunsford, Becky Barron; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Baxton, and Jake; and one brother:  Edwin “Baker” Brown.

Services for Doris Jean Brown will be Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Visitation will be 10am until time for the funeral service at 1pm with Bro. Josh Hasty officiating. Burial will follow in the Ramsey Cemetery. Casket bearers are:  Bobby Ramsey, Gary Ramsey, Teddy Lawrence, Keith Bullock, Doug Asher, and  Gary Russell Ramsey. Honorary casket bearers are Jesse Ramsey and Adam Hensley.
