Doris Ellen Wright

Mrs. Doris Ellen (Randall) Wright, age 85 of Brodhead, KY, went to her heavenly home on November 11, 2019 surrounded in love by her family.

Doris was born June 12, 1934 in Qingdao, China, a daughter to the late Willie and Geneva James Randall, missionaries to China.  On January 11, 1957, she was joined in marriage to Vall Roy Wright, who preceded her in death, and from that union came three children:  Roy Wayne, Rhonda, and Rodney.

She was a member of the Ottawa Baptist Church where she taught both Bible and Sunday School, directed the choir, was a pianist for many years, was a member of the Thursday Club, enjoyed Southern Gospel music, and cooking.    She was a retired Instructional Assistant where she loved and served the children of Brodhead Elementary for 33 years.  Throughout her life she held an unwavering faith in God, and she used her musical talents of playing the piano and singing to share the gospel with others. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her children:  Roy Wayne (Kathy) Wright of Mt. Vernon, KY, Rhonda (Dennis) Bray of Brodhead, KY, Rodney (Rebecca) Wright of Georgetown, KY; eight grandchildren:  Emily (Matt) McClure, Jackson (Courtney) Bray, Amanda Wright (Robbie Miller), Justin (Brittney) Wright, Rachel (Jesse) Wright, Tanner (Chelsey) Bray, Caleb (Emmalee Young) Wright, Julianne Wright; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers:  James (Thelma) Randall, Dr. Clifford W. (Phyllis) Randall; one sister:  Glenda (Randall) McKinney; and one very special friend:  Mrs. Claudinnia Cash.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Vall Roy Wright, and three siblings:  Robert Randall, Neva R. Roberts, and Bernard Randall.

Visitation for Mrs. Doris Wright will be Friday, November 15, 2019, from 6-9 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals and Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 12 – 2 pm at the Ottawa Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Ottawa Baptist Church with Bros. Michael Hail and Jesse Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.  Pall bearers will be:  Jackson Bray, Justin Wright, Tanner Bray, Caleb Wright, Matt McClure, and Robbie Miller.
