Douglas Hopkins Obituary

Douglas Ray Hopkins, age 64, departed this life on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, at his residence in Brodhead, Ky.

Doug was born on May 16th, 1962, in Stanford, Ky, a son to the late Walter and Lola Bryant Hopkins. On August 27th, 1983, he married Lisa Lawrence Hopkins and from that union came two daughters, Tiffany Rene and Heather Jenee.

Doug was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church, and he was an over the road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed Farming, Camping, Fishing, and going on cruises, but most of all he enjoyed his dog “Max” and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Doug served his country in the U.S. Army.

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife: Lisa Hopkins, his children; Tiffany Rene Mckibben (Josh), Heather Jenee Hancock (Josh), his grandchildren; Rayleigh Brooke Hancock, Trevor Lee Hancock, Hattie Jo McKibben, Alivia Blake Hancock, Gertie Rey McKibben, mother-in-law: Lorene Lawrence, brother-in-law: Teddy and Marcy Lawrence, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Le Roy Hopkins, Marvin Hopkins, Phillip Hopkins, his sister: Pernie Shearer, father-in-law: Bobby Lawrence.

Visitation for Doug will be on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, from 6-9 pm at Owens Chapel. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, at 1pm with Bros. Mike McFerron and Josh McKibben officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery with Military Rites by Rockcastle Color Guard.

Casket bearers; Matthew Hayes, Trevor Hancock, Kenny Hurst, Greg Lawrence, Josh Robbins, Jon Colby Robbins, Adam Mink, Teddy Lawrence.

Honorary casket bearers: Rayleigh Hancock, Hattie McKibben, Alivia Hancock, Gertie McKibben.
