Eddie Cash

James “Eddie” Cash, age 81, of Brodhead departed this life, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation.

Eddie was  born on October 31, 1941 in Brodhead, Ky.  a son of the late Arch and Artie Payne Cash.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who found great joy in church activities including outreach, watching sports, little league sports, spending time with his family and enjoyed “the little worlds fair”.   He retired from Bluegrass Army Depot and served his country in the US Armed Forces. He was a member, Sunday School Superintendent and spiritual leader at Brodhead Baptist Church for many years.

On May 27, 1967 he was joined in marriage to Mary Nevel Saylor, and they enjoyed 54 years together prior to her passing on May 24, 2021.

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Caroline Graves (Keith) of Mt. Vernon, Ky; and Jim Cash of Brodhead, Ky;  His grandchildren: Ben Graves (Tiffany); Lige Graves (Taylor); Colton and Sawyer Cash, and Haley Coleman. His great grandchildren: Eli Graves, Owen Graves, Brooks Thigpen , Knox Laniez  and Chesney Reece Graves. His siblings:  Walter Lee Cash (Christeen) of Brodhead;  Vernon Cash of Brodhead; and  Ethelene Cash of Brodhead.

As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents and wife, Mary Nevel Cash,  he was preceded in death by siblings: Lloyd Cash,Paul Ray Cash, Melberta Robbins, Preda Shepherd, Shelby Abney, Viola Houston and Anna Elizabeth Cash.
