Mr. Edward Earl (Eddie) Alcorn, age 72, of Mt. Vernon Ky, widower of Lyda Moore Alcorn, passed away Saturday, July 10th, 2021, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.
Eddie was born on May 9th, 1949, in Somerset, KY the son of late Orville Alcorn, and Ruby Deloris Marler Alcorn. Eddie was a welder at Alcorn Custom Welding for many years. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a member of the Rockcastle County Archery Club and was a national champion. He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, racing cars, and spending time with his family, especially his daughter and his grandchildren.
Those left to celebrate his life are; his daughter: Janice Smith and Roy Glen of Mt. Vernon, KY; grandchildren R.J. Smith and Tiffany, and Emma Grace Smith both of Mt. Vernon, KY; great-grandchildren R.G., Edward Lee, and James Chester Smith; brothers: Shelly Wayne (Laurie) Alcorn, Rhodney Kyle Alcorn Sr., Randall Keith (Cindy) Alcorn all of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Fred Walter (Jan) Alcorn of Livingston; sisters: Judy Katherine Jones of Knoxville, TN and Cynthia Leona (Jeff Charles) Harms of Mt. Vernon; a special niece Kristi Guinn of Gray, KY; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by; his wife Lyda Moore; and two brothers: Vernon Orville and Charles Jeffery Alcorn.
Visitation for Mr. Edward Earl (Eddie) Alcorn will be conducted Wednesday, July 14, 2021, from 11am-2pm followed by the funeral at 2pm, with Bro. Zandal Hasty officiating. Burial will follow at the Moore – Alcorn Cemetery, in Mt. Vernon.
