Evelyn (Hayes) Brown

Mrs . Marieta Evelyn Brown, age 85 of Livingston, Ky, passed away Thursday, March 27th, 2025 after a short illness at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

Evelyn was born in Mt. Vernon, Ky. on December 2, 1939 to the late T.C. and Mary Mae Payne Hayes.  On June 9, 1958, she married Arnold Brown and from that union came three children: Virginia, William and Eldon.

She was a follower of Jesus Christ, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, working in flower beds, quilting and being outdoors.

Those left ot celebrate her life are her children:  Virginia Arlene (Jim) Pheanis of Livingston; William Lowell Brown of Mt. Vernon; Eldon Lee Brown of Livingston;  Three grandchildren:  Jimmy, Eric and Karen;  Ten great grandchildren: Allie, Jayden, Neveah, Erica, Rachael, Katielyn, Jaxson, Easton, and Abbyie.   Six sisters: Lorene, Jean, Judy, Jackie , Sharon and Dorothy;  six brothers: Bill, Gar, Steven, Mike, Doug an Dennis; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Brown (2014), two sons: James and Allen Brown,  One sister: Betty Jasper and one brother Jimmy Dale Hayes.

Visitation for Evelyn will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 11-1PM at Owens Chapel.  Funeral service will follow at 1PM with Bro. Eric Pheanis officiating.  Burial will follow in Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
