Alice Faye Northern, age 84, of Brodhead, departed from this earth on July 29, 2026 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Faye was born March 12, 1942 to the late Albert and Nannie (Sowder) Thomas. She married Willard Northern on August 13, 1960 and from that union came Teresa, Patty, and Sonny. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, as well as crafting, sewing, puzzles, and watching cooking shows. She had a remarkable green thumb and found great joy in caring for her flowers. Her gardens were a beautiful reflection of the love, patience, and attention she gave so freely throughout her life.
Those left to mourn her passing include her husband of nearly 66 years, Willard; three children, Teresa (Robert) Hopkins, Patty Northern, and Sonny (Debbie) Northern; five grandchildren, Cortney (Chad) Deaton, Kasey Beth Hopkins, Bobbie Brooke Hopkins, John Deborde, and Harley Northern; three great grandchildren; one sister, Fronie (Jessie James) Pingleton, as well as a host of cousins, nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Thomas; and two sisters, Vivian Woodall and Rosaline Baker.
Services for Mrs. Faye Northern will be at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Visitation will be from 11 to 2 PM, followed by the funeral at 2 PM with Brother Ralph Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery.
