Flora Mae (Abney) Taylor

Mrs. Flora Mae Taylor, age 82 of Mt. Vernon passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Ky.

She w as born on September  30, 1942 to late Gilbert and Flossie Shearer Abney.  She was united in marriage to the late James T. Taylor on January 18, 1960, and from that union came a daughter, Debi.  They enjoyed 58 years together before his death.   She was a member of Roundstone Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Debi (Danny) Moore of Mt. Vernon; her grandchildren: Niki (Jon) Klave, Cody Moore and Tony Moore.  Her great grandchildren: Ava Klave and Roman Klave. Her sister: Faye Bullens.  As well as a host of friends other family members.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Dock, William and Fred Abney.

Visitation for Mrs. Flora Mae Taylor will be Monday, July 21, 2025 from 11am-1pm at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with funeral services following at 1pm.  Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.
