Florence Hoskins Winstead

Ms..  Florence Hoskins Winstead, age 87 of Brodhead, Ky. departed this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

She was born on November 13, 1935 in San Diego, California. The daughter of the late Henry and Ollie Ponder Hoskins.  Florence acquired a Masters degree, and was a retired Rockcastle County High School English teacher.  She enjoyed hand crafts, sewing, knitting and cross word puzzles. 

Those left to celebrate her life are her son: Clint Winstead of New York;  her grandchildren: Alex Winstead, Billy Combs, Leah Fields, and Carrie Ross. Her great grandchildren: Caleb Winstead, Arden Winstead , Makenzie Fields, Raelyn Combs, Madilyn Combs, Eli Combs and Kenny Manning. . As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Nora Ross, and  brothers: Henry and Floyd Hoskins.

A “Celebration of Life”  memorial service will be conducted Monday, October 16, 2023 from 5-7PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
