Flossie (Barron) McFerron

Ms. Flossie (Barron) McFerron, age 84, of Brodhead, KY, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

 Flossie was born in Rockcastle County on May 7, 1937, a daughter of the late Harvey and Pearly (Swinney) Barron. She married Andrew McFerron on September 29, 1953, and from that union came one daughter:  Helen. They enjoyed 67 years together prior to his passing on May 9, 2021. She was a member of First Church of Jesus Christ in Sand Springs. She believed in the lord and praised him even when she didn’t have the breath the breathe.

Those left to celebrate her life are her daughter:  Helen Doan of Brodhead, KY; two grandsons:  Benton Doan & wife Melissa, and Andy Doan; great-grandchildren:  Christa Renner & husband Jessie, Megan Doan, Cager Doan, Kaiden Doan, and Tava Doan; great-great grandchildren:  Avery and Addy Renner, Jason Doan, and Trevor Johnson; a sister-in-law: Fannie Barron; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew McFerron; her siblings: Robert Barron & wife Geniva, Raymond Barron & wife Doris, Daniel Barron & wife Locie, Altie McFerron & husband Billy, Anna Mae Anderson & husband Wilmer, and Ervin Barron; her son-in-law: Carl Doan; and her granddaughter: Missy Johnson.

Visitation for Flossie will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 5-9pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 1pm, with Wendall Martin. Both will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery, with casket bearers being Joe and Jerry Barron, Cager and Kaiden Doan, Jessie Renner, and Scottie McFerron – honorary casket bearers: Benton and Andy Doan, and Eli Price.
