Flossie Irene (Tackett) Mink

Ms. Flossie Irene (Tackett) Mink, age 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

Flossie was born December 29, 1933, in Sand Hill, KY, a daughter of the late Edd and Nona Mae (Kirby) Tackett. Flossie was united in marriage on December 17, 1949, to Ronald Mink, and they shared 61 wonderful years together, prior to his passing on December 21, 2010. She was a member of the Buffalo Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and painting.

She is survived by two daughters: Donna Poe and Don of Morrow Ohio, Linda James & Victor of Mount Vernon, KY; two sons: Ronald Mink & Cheryl of Middletown, Ohio, Jerry Mink & Deanette of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother: Floyd King of Burkesville, KY; one sister: Anna Clifford of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Mink; one brother: Burgess King; four sisters: Irene Craighead, Freda Mink, Lorene Mize, and Doris Brockhart; and a great-grandchild: Kennith James.

Visitation for Flossie will be Friday, April 1, 2022, from 6-8pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 1pm, with Bill Mink officiating. Both will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
