Obituary
Fred Abney, age 93, of Brodhead, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home.
Fred was born on March 26, 1929, in Climax, KY, a son of the late Gilbert and Flausie (Shearer) Abney. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going fishing in his free time.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Martha Morgan & Marty of Brodhead, KY, Johnny Abney of Ashland, KY, Sherry Fuson of Mt. Vernon, KY, Donald Abney & Rebecca of Livingston, KY, Donald Fred Abney of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Samantha Cook of Mt. Vernon, KY; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters: Faye Bullen, and Flora Mae Taylor; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Besides his parents, he we preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Laura Freda (Cameron) Abney; three children: Laura Howard, Ronald Abney, and Tracy Caudill; and two brothers: William Abney and Doc Abney.
Cremation has been chosen and there will be a memorial service scheduled for a later date.
