Garner John Brown, age 87 of Brodhead departed this life Saturday, January 13. 2024 at Danville Health and Rehab Care Center in Danville, KY.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1936, in Willailla., KY. a son of the late Marcus and Edith Albright Brown. Garner was a member of the Brodhead Baptist Church and found great joy in farming, raising tobacco, mowing his and other yards, gardening, hulling walnuts, and spending time with his grand and great grandchildren. He spent 37-years driving a school bus and working at the bus garage as well as Farming. On Nov. 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Owens, and from that marriage came one daughter Connie Marie McClure.
Those left to celebrate his life are his daughter: Connie Marie McClure: Four Grandchildren Jessica Cromer and Jason: Chris Childress and Jennifer: Lorrie Santo, and Katie McClure; Nine Great Grandchildren: Jordan, Faith, Trinity, Fynnley, Elizabeth, Jamison, Braxton, Benjaman and Kaleigh; one sister Lorene Lawence and Bobby: and one brother Raymond Brown and Brenda. He is also survived by a host of special friends and neighbors too numerous to mention, he never met a stranger to say the least.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Edwin Baker Brown and sister: Doris Jean Brown.
