George Griffin

George M. Griffin, 75, of Brodhead, went home to walk with the Lord on October 19, 2024. His wife of 46 years, Rebecca Utz Griffin, was holding his hand, at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica “Pearly” Fletcher, and Rissie “Roo” Griffin Wolff. He was preceded in death by his sons, George II, and Joshua, who along with his parents, Rissie Louise Murphy Peters, and Ernest Griffin were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven.

George was an electrician by trade, but could fix almost anything (except computers, which he did not trust). He worked on half of the homes in Rockcastle County, and also served as a maintenance man at Renfro Valley and Rockcastle Middle School briefly.

In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by his son in law, Scott Fletcher, 9 grandchildren, George Stanley Griffin (Victoria), Sage Griffin, Jeremy Griffin, Brandon Fletcher (Katie), Bella Violet Forbes, James Wolff, JJ Wolff, Oni Griffin, and Lucy Griffin, and 3 great grandchildren. His siblings, Lee Griffin (Darla), Paul “Pete” Peters, and Dora Lee Griffin, also survive.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024, 2-4 PM at Brodhead Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Hammond officiating.
