Gerald Dean Barnes

Obituary notice:

Gerald Dean Barnes, age  60 of Mt. Vernon departed this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ky.

He was born on February 18, 1963 in Mt. Vernon. Ky. a son of the late Herman and Mary McFerron Barnes.  He had operated a Saw Mill for thirty years, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, gardening and complaining. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his daughter, Kayla Barnes (Kenny) of Brodhead, Ky.  His grandchildren: Gracelyn Robinson and Immanuel Barnes. His brothers: Donnie Barnes of Brodhead;  Tony Barnes (Juanita) of Brodhead; and Ronnie Barnes of Woodstock, Ky; and Ernie Barnes (Armilda) of Mt. Vernon. His sisters: Donna Northern (Charles) of Mt. Vernon; Carolyn Rose (Don) of Waynesburg; and Minnie Hopkins of Brodhead.  As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Robert, Jessie, Joyce, Lois and Benny Barnes.
