"Ginny" L (Rowland) Chestnut

Obituary notice:

Mrs. Virginia “Ginny” Louise Chestnut, age 70 of Brodhead, passed away, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility.

She was born on November 3, 1955, in Hamilton, Ohio.  A daughter of the late Arnzel Lee Rowland and Patricia Max Roop Rowland. She had been a Manager at TTAI, and found great joy in gardening, fishing, camping, mowing the yard, and most of all spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of New Hope First Church of God and Somerset Chamber of Commerce.  On September 13, 1991, she was united in marriage to Richard Chestnut, and they have enjoyed 34 years together.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband Richard Chestnut of Brodhead, Ky; her children:  Heather Louise Carpenter of Brodhead, Ky; Angela Nicole Todd (Calvin) of Crab Orchard, Ky; and her bonus daughter, Jessica Harris.  Her grandchildren: Christopher Scalf, Jr., Cody Lee Rowland, Savannah Pittman, Haley Spoonamore, Dylen Spoonamore, Autumn Davidson, Hunter Rowland and Kilee Carpenter; Her great grandchildren: Isabella, Silas, Cristopher, Caiden, Brayden, Baylee, Brantlee, Theo, Darrell, Wyatt, Alexander, Niko, Zane, Walon, Kalton, Danny, Grayson, and Bonus Granddaughter: Bri wells. Her sister: Linda Sue Rowland Hensley; Two best friends for life: Debbie Wells and Catherine Harris.As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Chad Rowland, her sister: Brenda Sue Rowland Sampson.

Visitation for Ginny Chestnut will be Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, from 11AM-2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Funeral services at 2PM with Bro. Marshall Malone officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.
