Gladous (Saylor) Hazlett

Gladous Hazlett, age 73 of Mt. Vernon, departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Ky.

She was born on August 11, 1950, in Cartersville, Ky, a daughter of the late Burley and Mable Broughton Saylor.  She was of the Christian faith and found great joy in sewing, flowers, gardening and camping. 

Those left to celebrate her life are her children, Kenneth Ray Owens of Brodhead, Ky; Claire June Saylor of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Edith Faye Barnett (Luke) of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; and Mollie Jane Price (Mark) of Carlisle, Ky; her seventeen grandchildren; her eighteen great grandchildren; her brother, Rant Saylor (Joyce) of Brodhead, Ky; her sisters, Evelyn Tuttle (Claude) of Berea, Ky; and Burline Blair (Taylor) of Lancaster, Ky; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hazlett, infant brother: Merlee Saylor; a grandchildren, Anthony Lance Selby, brothers and sisters: Rosetta Lowery, Iona Barrett, Lulu McCarty, Betty Helton, Barbara Fetters. Jasper Denney, and Susie DeBorde
