Glenda Juanita (Cummins) Gentry

Glenda Juanita Cummins Gentry 82, of Mt. Vernon, Ky passed from this life on December 25, 2025 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Ky. She was born on March 21, 1943 in Rockcastle County, Ky. to the late Vernon and Fannie Cummins. Glenda was a member of Ottawa Baptist Church.

She was an employee of Citizens Bank in Brodhead, Ky. for 29 years and truly enjoyed her job and meeting and socializing and being helpful to her customers. She loved and missed her job so much that the day of her passing, she was still talking about working. Glenda enjoyed baseball and basketball , especially when Kelly and Shandra were involved and Glen was coaching. The highlight in the last few months of Glendas life was being able to go with Delores to Woodstock Community Center for their potluck meal and sharing her apple dumplings and socializing with her friends, family and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Glen Gentry and two children, Kelly Gentry and Shandra Rowe; two sisters, Brenda Albright and Shelby Jean Cummins; two brothers, Junior Cummins and a stillbirth;  her nephew, Daniel Harris; three brothers-in-law, Coy Huckleby, Carmel New and Lynn Albright; Mother and Father-in-law, Fred and Susie Gentry. Glenda is survived by a son-in-law, David Rowe (Traci); three sisters, Sue Reece (Bill), Mary Huckelby-New and Darlene Harris (Dennis) as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Glenda will certainly be missed by many of her family and friends, but loss, for a short while, is Heavens gain.

Visitation for Glenda will be Friday, Jan. 2, 2026 from 12Noon-2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will follow at 2Pm. with Bros. John McPheron and Darrell Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Ottawa Cemetery. Contributions in Glendas memory may be made to WMU of Ottawa Baptist Church and the Woodstock Community Center.
