"Hank" Coates

Henry “Hank” Clarence Coates III, age 73 of Mt. Vernon departed this life on Monday, August 21, 2023, at his home.

He was born on March 3, 1950 in Frankenmak, Austria. He was the son of James H. and Ann Baker Mullins.  He was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.  On August 27, 1982, he was united in marriage to Patricia Bond, and they enjoyed forty years together.

Those left to celebrate his life are his wife, Patricia Coates of Mt. Vernon; his children: Jesse Coates (Jessica) of Brodhead, and Kena Ann Coates of Mt. Vernon.  His grandchild: Resse Rednour. As well as a host of friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ann Mullins.

Cremation was chosen, and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
