OBITUARY NOTICE:

Linda Hayes age 79 of Mt Vernon, KY passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at her home. She was born on December 8, 1944, in Mt Vernon KY. Her parents were William and Ollie Peters Sowder. She was united in marriage to Donald Ray Hayes on December 2, 1959. From that union came three children: Sharon, Alvin and Brenda.

She was a member of Climax Christian Church. She loved working in her flower gardens, but the thing she loved the most was her Grandchildren and spending time with family.

Those left to mourn her passing are her children; Sharon (Robbin) Bishop of Mt Vernon, Lloyd Alvin Hayes of Springfield, KY and Brenda F. Hayes of Mt Vernon. Her grandchildren; Jessica Hayes of Nicholasville, KY and Quenton Bishop of Richmond, KY. Pamela Shackleford, Billy Joe "BJ" Shackleford; Great grandchildren Ella and Violet Goldey of Nicholasville, KY. A special cousin Bobby Robinson, Brother and sister-in-law Daisy and Joe Kirby, sister-in-law Marie Hayes.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Donald Ray Hayes, Brothers; Ed and Charles; Sisters Lucille, Christine, Elizabeth and Beulah.

Graveside service will be Thursday, October 24th at 1pm at Merritt Cemetery with Bro. Ron Lutes officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Marvin E Owens Home for Funerals,  In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude’s Children Hospital.
