Helen Napier

Mrs. Helen Napier, age 92 of Brodhead, departed this life Friday, May 29, 2026, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville, Ky.

She was born on November 27, 1933, in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Jesse William and Sudie Brock Proffitt.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  On June 11, 1952, she was united in marriage to Paul Napier, and they enjoyed 73 years together.  Helen found great pleasure in sewing and cooking.

Those left to celebrate her life is her husband: Paul Napier of Brodhead; her children: Rose Elaine Todd (Price) of Waco;  Melody Fay Lunsford of Danville; Larry Wayne Napier (Debbie) of Ottawa; and Paula Lea Day (Chester) of Ottawa; her grandchildren:  Douglas Day, Brandon Day, Shannon Day,  Stacey Ann  Erlandson, Andrew Wayne Napier, Ashley Ann Loosemore, William Tyler Napier, Angela Hope Evans, Lindsey Marie Elliott, Johnathan Isaac Day ;  her brothers: David William Proffitt (Sharon) of Bellefontaine, OH and Delmer Glenn Proffitt (Sylvia)  of Morrow, OH; as well as host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Della Taylor; her sister, Hester Faye Reeseman; son-in-law, Randall Lunsford and brother-in-law, Hurchel Reeseman, sister-in-law Frankie Proffitt.  

Graveside funeral service Tuesday, June 2nd at 1 PM, Napier Cemetery in Ottawa. Bro. Bill Davis is officiating.
