Homer Hudson

Mr. Homer Hudson, age 95, of Mt. Vernon, Ky. departed this life on Friday, May 5, 2023, at his residence.

He was born on October 14, 1927, in Island City, Ky., the son of the late Sherdian and Martha Thomas Hudson.  He was a self-employed mechanic, working for several years for Castleton Farms. He was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. He found great joy in driving the Church bus for the Youth Summer Camp in Minn.; and enjoyed fishing.  On December 31, 1949, he was united in marriage to Rhoda Hudson, and they enjoyed 52 years together prior to her passing in 2002.

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Tim Hudson of Dublin, VA, Lerman Hudson (Pam) of Versailles, KY, Darlene Mullins (Leonard) of London, KY, Marlene Cox of London, KY, Sue Tucker of London, KY, and Jane Shelton (Lester) of Hickory, NC.  His special friend, Betty Sandlin.  Seventeen grandchildren. Eight great grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces/nephews’ friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jim and Gary Hudson, sister, Ruth Allen and infant Lerman Hudson.
