Howell Harris Holbrook

Mr. Howell Harris Holbrook, Sr., age 85 of Brodhead, Ky. passed from this life surrounded by his children and grandchildren on Friday, June 16, 2023.

He was born on September 23, 1937, a son of the late John Henry and Fannie Minton Holbrook. Howell served in the United States Navy. He retired from the Bluegrass Army Depot where he worked as a security guard and mechanic.  He enjoyed farming, gardening and motorcycles.

Howell was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves behind six children, Howell Harris Holbrook Jr. (Gail), Kane Harris Holbrook (Lyssa), Nadine Denny (Jerome), Marlene Holbrook, Charlene Park, and Megan Ostrander (Mike). He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, Shaun (Shayla), Cody (Hillary), Jacob (Britiney), Caleb Harris, Paul (Natalie), Hope, MaryCash, Ella, Hallel, Ariel, Nathaniel, Zaydok, Syrah, Benaiah, and Shepherd, as well as a host of great grandchildren.

Howell is survived by one sister, Charlotte Griffith (Billy George) and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bonnie Jessica Holbrook, two brothers, Charles Holbrook and John Holbrook, Jr. and one sister-in-law Etta Mae Holbrook.

Howell was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
