Jack C. Blackburn

Mr. Jack C. Blackburn, age 81, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at U of L Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

Jack was born on January 1, 1941, a son of the late Hansel and Blanche (Scott) Blackburn. He was of the Baptist faith and found great joy in boating - spending enjoyable time on his houseboat. He was a long-time employee of Baptist Hospital in Corbin, KY and Cardinal Hill Hospital in Lexington, KY. On March 15, 1968, he was united in marriage to Sue (Dehart) Blackburn, and they enjoyed 32 years together prior to her passing on September 27, 2000.

Those left to celebrate his life are his daughters: Lisa Lickliter & husband David, Kim Wagers & special friend Wayne Sevier, and Rhonda Taylor & husband Don, all of Corbin, KY; 12 grandchildren: Ashley Murray, Don, Hunter, Logan, & Seth Taylor, Chelsey, Rebekah, Shelby, & Chloe Lickliter, and Jakob, Jared, & Jordan Wagers; 2 great-grandchildren: Carter and Jackson Murray; a sister Kathy Layne & husband Clinton of Georgetown, KY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Besides his parents and his wife Sue, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert and Eddie Blackburn; and a grandson: Zachary Taylor.

A visitation for Jack will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 6pm to 9pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, KY.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1pm at Mountain View Memory Garden in Belfry, KY.

Contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to Cardinal Hill Hospital in Lexington, KY.
