James Paul Kirby Obituary

Mr. James Paul Kirby, age 76, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, at his home in Mt. Vernon, Ky. Paul was born the son of the late Cecil and Bessie (Cromer) Kirby on March 14th, 1950. On July 18th, 1969, he married Clarice (Renner) Kirby and from that union came three children, Doug, Jason, and Stacey.


 Paul was of the Baptist faith, and he was a member of Calloway Baptist Church. He was a Butcher at Wal Mart, and he enjoyed working on lawn mowers, he loved all sports but especially football. He was a coach in the little league football program for many years; he coached all three of his boys.


Paul is survived by his wife; Clarice (Renner) Kirby, his grandchildren; Cody Kirby, Brendan Kirby, McKenzie Kirby, his sister; Jenny Vickers (Gary) of Mt Vernon.


Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his children, Doug Kirby, Jason Kirby, Stacey Kirby.


Visitation for Paul will be Saturday, April 11th, 2026, from 12-2pm at Owens Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2pm with Bro. Jason Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Mckinney Cemetery (Blue Springs).


Casket Bearers are Junior Kirby, Brandon Nicely, Gary Vickers, Shane Kirby, Paul Harper, and Casper Bowling.
