Jean Carley Obituary

JEAN RYAN CARLEY   died August 30, 2021, at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville, Ky.  She was born October 2, 1934, in Berea, OH to Dr. E. Wesley Ryan and Francis (Rothel). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 50 years, Ross Carley, and a brother, Col. William Ryan, U.S. Air Force (ret.).

Jean graduated from Berea High School in 1952 and Baldwin-Wallace College in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics.  She became the Executive Coordinator for Mobile Meals of Marion County and retired in 1997.  She and Ross moved to Inverness, FL permanently in 2010.

Jean made jewelry pictures and loved flower arranging. She was an avid bridge player which she continued to play until months before her death.  She was also a certified professional clown, "Putter the Clown". 

Jean was a member of the Berea Historical Society, Marion Country Club, Marion Salem United Methodist Church, Citrus Memorial Hospital Share Club and attended Inverness Methodist Church.

Jean is survived by her two children, Lynn (Tommy) Baldwin and Scott (Nicole) Carley; four grandchildren, Bennett, Jacob, Justin and Lily; and two great-grandchildren: Emily and Adeline.

By her own request, there will be no calling hours and no formal funeral services. She will be cremated and interred at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, OH next to Ross.
