Jesse Monroe Doan

OBITUARY NOTICE:

Jesse Monroe Doan, age 82, of Mt Vernon, Ky. departed this life on Tuesday, January 15th, 2025, at Jackson Manor Nursing Facility in Annville, Ky.

He was born on November 25th, 1942, in Mt Vernon, Ky, a son of the late Leonard and Ruth McKinney Doan. On June 3rd, 1963, he married Elizabeth Lorene Kirby Doan, from that union came six children: Janice, Dale, Brenda, Jenny, Judy, and Brian. Jesse was of the Christian faith and attended the First Church of Jesus Christ in Sand Springs.  Jesse was a retired mechanic and car salesman. He enjoyed watching U.K. basketball and football, but most of all he enjoyed watching his grandchildren paly football and softball. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his children; Janice Poynter (Chris) of Brodhead, Dale Doan (Tina) of Mt Vernon, Brenda Cameron (Jeff) of Jackson Co, Jenny Harper (Paul) of Mt Vernon, Judy Cameron (Carlos) of Jackson Co, Brian Doan of Somerset, seventeen grandchildren, many great grandchildren as well as a host of friends, family, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lorene Kirby Doan, his parents, Leonard and Ruth Doan.

Visitation for Jesse will be Saturday, January 25th, 2025, from 11AM-2PM at Owens chapel, funeral service will begin at 2pm with Bro. Wendell Martin officiating. Burial service will follow in Tom Stevens cemetery.
