Jewell Overbay

Jewell Overbay, 77 of Harlan, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the home of her son in Dayhoit, Kentucky. Jewell was born on August 10, 1947 in Jackson County, Kentucky to the late Colemen and Knewanee Welch Tillery. She was a retired Nurse Aide. Besides her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Omer Overbay, Jr., and several siblings.

She is survived by her children, Wayne (Debbie) Overbay, David (Diane) Overbay, and Renee (David) Hill, her grandchildren, Drew Overbay, Stephen (Kaitlyn) Overbay, Micheal Rigney, Jessie (Charity) Rigney, Dalton (Haley) Overbay, Ashley (Bradley) Adams, Tori (Micheal) Brock, Brandon (Savannah) Hill, and Blake Jones, and 11 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Neil, Richard, Ronnie, Bonnie, Mike, Doug, and Jesse "Pug". She also leaves behind a host of many, many special friends and family to mourn her passing.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Allie Simpson, Shilah Evans, Susan Howard, and all the amazing staff at Bluegrass Care Navigators. Visitation will be Thursday (May 29) from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Thursday (May 29) at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with David Overbay and Wayne Overbay officiating.

Graveside services will be on Friday (May 30) at 1:00 PM in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Brodhead, Kentucky with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family asks that everyone meet at the cemetery before the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to Bluegrass Care Navigators in honor of Jewell Overbay.
