Joanna (Norton) Allen

OBITUARY NOTICE:

Joanna Allen, age 92, of Brodhead, Ky, went on to be with the Lord, January 13th, 2025, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

She was born on March 15th, 1932, in Mt Vernon, Ky., a daughter of the late Jess and Velma Sams Norton. On August 2nd, 1954, she married Quentin Allen and from that union came their children, Connie, Jerry, Larry, Diane, and Johnny. She was a member of Ottawa Baptist Church. Joanna was a retired school teacher and she enjoyed gardening, listening to gospel music, going to go cart races, and telling stories, and above all she loved to talk. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and she will be dearly missed.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children; Connie Wilson, Jerry Allen (Peggy), Larry Allen (Sandra), Diane Smith (Chad), her grandchildren; Amy Sparks (Jeff), Jamie Blair (Chris), Bobby Lee Wilson III (Crystal), Quincy Allen (Stephanie), Leslie Cook (David), Janie Barnett (Dustin), Joanie Caldwell (Gary), twelve great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son; Johnny Allen, her brother; Billy Ray Norton, her sister; Bethada Hopkins.

Visitation for Joanna will be Saturday, January 18th, from 12-2pm at Owens Chapel, funeral service at 2pm with Bro. John McPheron officiating. Burial will follow in Ottawa Cemetery.
