Joe Edd Barnes

Mr. Joe Edd Barnes, age 74, of Mt. Vernon, KY, widower of Vickie Sue Barnes, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.

Joe Edd was born December 23, 1946 in Pinehill, KY to the late Earl and Mary Alice (Sowder) Barnes. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was a retired bridge crew worker for CSX Railroad, a member of Maretburg Baptist Church, a proud Democrat, and enjoyed fishing, watching sports and news. Joe Edd married Vickie Sue Renner on July 19, 1969 and from that union came two daughters:  Kimberly Jo and Dana Lynne.

Those left to celebrate his life are his two daughters:  Kimberly Jo Richards and husband Dewayne of Berea, KY, Dana Lynne Payne of Brodhead, KY; four grandchildren:  Tyler Barnes Mobley, Thea Grace Richards, Gunnar Joseph Richards, Corbynne Brook Ingram; one great-grandson:  Bentley Ross Mobley; and one brother:  Robert Lee Barnes and wife Connie of Georgetown, KY.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years:  Vickie Sue Barnes; and one brother:  Billy Ray Barnes.
