Mrs. Juanita (Rader) Deatherage, age 77, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.
Juanita was born on April 27, 1945, in Orlando, KY, a daughter of the late Raymond and Elsie (Chestnut) Rader. On July 23, 1959, she was united in holy matrimony to Charles Coman Deatherage, and of that union came one son, Doug, and two daughters, Connie, and Sheila. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, gardening, and cooking.
Those left to celebrate her life are her husband of 62 years: Charles Coman Deatherage, of Mt. Vernon, KY; her son: Doug Deatherage & Rita of Crab Orchard, KY; four grandchildren: Tiffany Deatherage, Justin Lear, Ashley Bolling & Aaron, and Dustin Marcum & Holly; six great-grandchildren: Cheyenne, Skyler, Laycee, Kinley, Cullen, and Rhett; a great-great-grandchild: Blade; a brother: Charles Rader & Dorothy of Orlando, KY; two sisters: Glenna Smith of Richmond, KY, and Marie Jennings, of Berea, KY; as well as a host of many friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters: Sheila Marlene Deatherage and Connie Gayle Deatherage; and a brother: Bronco Rader.
Visitation for Juanita will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, from 6-9pm. Funeral will be Friday, May 27, 2022, at the Marvin E. Owens Home for funerals at 1pm, with Dennis Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in the Hansel Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Casket bearers are Lee Deatherage, Aaron Deatherage, Dustin Marcum, Aaron Bolling, Reagan Childers, Jordan Cash, Gary Kidwell, Mitchell Rader, and Devon Bussell. Honorary casket bearers are Johnny Rader, Tucker Childers, and the staff and Fresenius Kidney Care in Berea.
