Julia (Hicks) Rowe

Julia Rowe, age 78 of Mt. Vernon, KY departed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on March 27, 1945 in Clay Co., a daughter of the late Acie and Minnie Hicks. She was a homemaker who found great joy in fishing, gardening, flowers, attending church, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of Lighthouse Assembly of God.  On April 3, 1988 she married Lee “Jack” Rowe, and they enjoyed  25 years prior to his passing on Dec. 12, 2013.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children: Jr. Hicks of Mt. Vernon, KY; Lillie Mae Benge Sungy  of London, KY; Sherman Mills of London, KY; Milda Jane Mills; Minnie Kirby (Chriss); Crystal Gilbert (Robert) ; Penny Cecil (Mike) of Greenfield, IND; David Rowe of Greenfield, IND and Jeniffer Adams of Crab Orchard, KY;  her grandchildren: Danielle and Jerry Savage; Robert Kirby and Juliann Renfro; Isabelle, Hope and Joey Mills;  Darren Lee Hacker, Trinity Messinger, Jackson Dean Gilbert, Josie and Anna Marie , and Michael Cecil, Jessica  and Jacqueline Rowe and Amber Adams;   Her brother, Daniel Hicks of Manchester, KY;  as well as a host of great grandkids,  nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by children: Gearld Rowe, Debbie, Pamela  and Belinda Mills; eleven brothers and two sisters. 

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions would be gratefully appreciated for expenses.
