Kenneth Elwood Dyehouse, age 69, of Brodhead, KY went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2025, at U.K. hospital following a long illness. He was surrounded by family. Kenneth was born October 27, 1955, in Danville KY to Elwood and Viola Dyehouse. Kenneth was a member of Brodhead Baptist Church.
Kenneth grew up in Crab Orchard KY. After graduating from Crab Orchard High School in 1973, he attended EKU until joining the Army in December 1973. He served with the US Army and National Guard till January 1980. Kenneth had many roles during his life, he did construction work, former part owner of Dyehouse Farm Supply, owner of Dyehouse Agricultural Equipment, developed water systems for livestock and springs on farms and farming. He always said his most important accomplishment was being a dad to his two sons and granddaddy to his four precious grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife , Kathy Bussell Dyehouse, whom he married June 2, 1979 and they had 45 ½ wonderful years together, sons John William Dyehouse( Emily), Mark Yadon Dyehouse (Lura), grandchildren Drew, Ella, Yadon and Fowler Dyehouse, all of Brodhead, KY; sisters Judy Hammons and Rhonda (Marvin) Marshbanks all of Stanford, KY and Lisa Dyehouse of Sevierville, TN; brother Michael (Sharon) Dyehouse of Crab Orchard, KY and Brother-in-law Bryan Bussell of Brodhead, KY and many beloved nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Elwood & Viola Dyehouse, he was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Montgomery and brother-in-law Gerald Hammons.
Pallbearers will be: Kevin Bandura, Dr. Matthew Marshbanks, Louis Seidel, Curtis Burton, Bryan Mullins, and Eric Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill McKinney, Mark McKinney, David Pensol, Bryan Bussell, Marvin Marshbanks, Paul Montgomery, Tim Nicely, Walter Cash, and Robbie Crawford (1956-2024). Casket Guards will be Drew, Ella, Yadon, and Fowler Dyehouse.
Visitation for Kenneth will be Saturday, January 25th, 2025, from 6-9pm at Owens Chapel. Funeral service will be held Sunday, January 26th, 2025, at 2pm at Owens Chapel with Bro. Ralph Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery with Military Rites at graveside.
