Lawrence Carpenter

Mr. Lawrence S. Carpenter, age 72 of Mt. Vernon passed away Wednesday, November 13 at his home. Lawrence was born in Berea KY November 2, 1952, to the late Glenna “Ruth” Carpenter. In 1980 he met Ester Johnson, and they enjoyed 27 years together till her passing in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to celebrate his life his aunt June Kirby although he and Ester never married, he though of Esters children as his own, they are as follows; Katherine Johnson of Mt. Vernon, Theresa Brown and Rick of Berea, Rose Johnson of Richmond, Sharon Author and Jacob of Richmond, and Karen Bryant and Steve of Lancaster.

Besides his parents and Ester, he is preceded in death by brothers Bobby Ray and Ellis Benny Kirby, Grandparents Lena and Charlie Carpenter, Aunt Deloris Martin and Esters children; Linda, Ricky, and Ronnie Johnson, and Nancy Howard.

The family has chosen cremation.
