Lela Mae (Stevens) Harrison

Lela Mae Harrison, age 84 of Mt Vernon, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2024.

She was born on March 17th, 1940, in Level Green, Ky.  A daughter of the late William Harve and Edna (Bullock) Stevens. On March 29th, 1958, she married Melvin Harrison, and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 45 years. She retired from Rockcastle Regional Hospital as a CNA after 28 years of service, also she worked at Fletchers Grocery Store for 5 years. Lela enjoyed going to church, cooking, canning, working puzzles, flowers, and spending time with family.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband: Melvin Harrison (Mt Vernon). Her children: Gayle (Michael) DeBorde (Mt Vernon), Timothy (Beverly) Harrison (Berea), Granddaughter: Ashley Harrison (Berea), Brothers: J B Stevens and Randall Stevens, both of Mt Vernon. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Jones and Linda Elam, brother Lois Stevens, bonus son, Danny Sutton. nephews; Dooney Jones, Danny Stevens and Donnie Stevens.

Visitation for Lela will be Friday, May 31st, at Marvin Owens Chapel from 6-9PM And Saturday, June 1st, at Grace Baptist Church from 12-2PM with funeral services following at 2PM with Bro Raymond Offutt and Bro Matthew Lunsford officiating.
