Lena Frances (Norton) Hayes

Lena Frances Norton Hayes, age 88, departed this life on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Mrs. Hayes was born on April 23, 1935, in Wabd, Kentucky, to Denver and Mauda McKinney Norton.

Mrs. Hayes was a retired teacher and enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, and genealogy. She was a member of First Church of Jesus Christ, in Sand Springs, Kentucky.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband Floyd Hayes of Bee Lick, Kentucky; her children, Randall Hayes (Jennifer) of Greensboro, North Carolina, David Hayes of Bee Lick, Kentucky, and Wanda Burdine (Stephen) of Quail, Kentucky; her brother, Dearl (La Veda) Norton of Edmonson, Kentucky; Five grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Norton, and Dale Norton, stepmother Eva Bullock Norton and one son Jessie Hayes.

Services for Mrs. Hayes will be Thursday, January 18th, at 1pm at Marvin E Owens Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Brother Wendell Martin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the form of school supplies and library books to Rockcastle County Schools or other schools of choice. Donations can also be made to the cemetery fund.
