Kay was the daughter of Wilhelmena and Arthur Tackett of Boyd County Kentucky. After graduating High School, she attended King’s Daughters’ Hospital School of Nursing graduating as a Registered Nurse. This officially began a life of healing and saving others. Beginning her career as a student nurse at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington Kentucky she met Ed Fielder and they were soon married. They had a son, Wayne Edward Fielder in 1967.
Kay lived a life of Service and Family. Leading the charge in the Home Healthcare industry, she helped to found the Rockcastle Home Healthcare system. After hanging up her Nursing hat, she became an entrepreneur with her husband. As owner of Keepsake Record Shop and Country Meadow Soap Company, based in Mt. Vernon Kentucky, she pursued her passions with a fire as bright as her vibrant red hair.
Linda Kay Fielder went home to Jesus after a brief illness on December 13, 2020, one day after securing 57 years with her beloved husband. She is survived by her Husband, Ed Fielder; her Son, Wayne Fielder (Angela Estepp Fielder); her beloved kitty, Goldy; and her granddog Jojo.
Visitation for Linda will be Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5-7pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bruce Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Cemetery.
